Several years ago, I was commissioned to do an illustration by the new owner of the license of the Mustang Ranch
brothel in Nevada. He wanted to create a line of merchandise to sell
that would depict a stylized version of the Old West, circa 1940's or
1950's. As a test, I first created a black & white drawing, with a
more modernized look:
Once approved, the next phase was a 1950's 'retro' look to the cowgirl, that I subtly modeled after Marty McFly's outfit in Back to the Future III, using colored pencil:
This was a fun project, as I needed to manipulate the reference photo of Playmate Jennifer Allen quite a bit--I used her basic pose (which I flipped for effect), but add and subtract elements.
