Interview With Jax Turyna

Jax Turyna has been modeling and acting for about 7 years with numerous print and film credits. She has become the #1 female cover model in the Romance Novel Industry. A truly delightful young lady, we met while collaborating on her military style pinup art (based on a photo reference by Ralph Haseltine). Here’s a chance to learn more about her

• What did you think when you saw yourself as a work of original art?
When I first saw the artwork, I thought it was really beautiful. It was so cool to myself in a drawing. I absolutely love the drawing. Vince did such a great job!

See full size art of Jax here.

• How did you get started as a model and actress? How old were you?
I started modeling when I was just about 18 years old. I had always wanted to model and act ever since I was a child. I had professional images taken by my cousin when I was in high school and we used them to submit to agencies. I was signed right away. Acting came soon after, when one of my agents got me a movie audition. My very first movie audition I ever had, it went very well and I was cast.

• What is your favorite genre of modeling?
I do not have a specific genre that is my favorite, I like all aspects of modeling. I shoot romance novels the most which is a very fun, because I get to dress up in all different time periods. I also, shoot a lot of ads. I love doing that as well because it is a fun environment to do the shoots in.

• What are some of your acting credits?
I have been on several shows including, God, Guns and Automobiles (History Chanel), Below Deck (Bravo), Web series Rent Controlled and Café Kremlin as well as co-hosted the Mancow TV show in Chicago. I have also had the honor of filming several feature films some of which I was the lead. To see exactly what movies, I have done go to IMBD

• Where can people go to learn more about you, and see some of your portfolio?

New Art-Kerri Kendall

I just completed a new drawing of my friend, former Playboy Playmate Kerri Kendall.   Artwork of her had been planned for some time, but never got off the ground until this month. I chose an image that had a lot of dramatic lights and darks, & I used the sand to cover her up in an appropriate place to make it SFW.

See the full size drawing on my website. You can follow Kerri on Twitter.

Sexy Nicole Art

Below is my latest drawing, a portrait of my friend (and fellow pinup artist), Nicole Brune. Before turning to art full-time, Nicole was a successful swimsuit model in California. I've been wanting to do art of Nicole for years, and finally she has become a part of my Lunchtime Pinup series.

The reference photo below was taken by her now-husband. As you can see, Nicole has gorgeous curves and a fabulous smile.

See Nicole's art here. Please contact me here with comments or commission or print requests. Thank you.

Great Book by a Playmate

Our good friend, and Playboy's Miss December 1982, Charlotte Kemp, recently published  a book titled Centerfolds,  a "comprehensive collection of stories from the iconic women of Playboy  Magazine as told by the real girls next door and the photographers who made them famous."  It's a fascinating read, and you won't be able to put it down.

I created a special piece of art of Charlotte as a promotion for this book, as a tribute to the stories written by Charlotte and her Playmate 'sisters,' and to celebrate the end of an era.  As you probably know, Playboy just announced that they will do away with nudity in the magazine starting next March.  This will serve to make these ladies even more special, as well as their compelling stories.

When you buy and then review Centerfolds, a collection of stories by Charlotte Kemp and then review it on Amazon you will receive a print of this beautiful illustration of Charlotte Kemp and have it autographed.  To get the illustration you must review Centerfolds.

See a Great offer below

We created a way for you to own a piece of this special artwork:

1)  Go to Amazon and order the book (as low as  $4.49);

2) Post a review of Centerfolds on it's Amazon page;

3) Send me a message to verify your review;

You will receive an 8" x 10" print of this art, signed personally by both Charlotte & me.  It's a great collector's item to go with your great book.  Go to Amazon and order your copy today!

(Review verification necessary to get signed print.  Allow 3 weeks for delivery of print)
